Seed for some native prairie wild flower species need 3 to 12 weeks exposure to cool, moist conditions before the wild flower seed can germinate.  This may be achieved by broadcasting the wildflower seeds on a flower bed or prairie wildflower field in the winter and letting nature do its job or pre-treating the wildflower seed in a refrigerator for the recommended time before spring planting.  Acquire your native wild flower seeds now for fall planting.
