Scutellaria incana, commonly known as Hoary Skullcap or Downy Skullcap, forms a very attractive bushy mound 2 to 3 feet tall with branched terminal clusters of purplish blue to deep blue 1 inch flowers.  Downy Skullcap's multiple clusters of blue flowers are a welcome addition to the flower garden.  Plant Downy Skullcap in rich, moist well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.  

Downy or Hoary Scullcap occurs naturally in open woods, savannas clearings, and along roadsides from Florida and Alabama, north to New Jersey, New York, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Kansas. Lamiaceae (Mint family)
