Fire Pink, has brilliant red showy flowers growing on the top of stems rising above the 4 inch long basal leaves.   Silene virginica Fire Pink is a beautiful and showy native wildflower that does best in light shade in average well drained soil.  Silene virginica Fire Pink is a shockingly crimson flower found in dry open woodlands.  Silene virginica fire Pink is beautiful planted among other native wildflowers in a hummingbird butterfly garden. This tough, heat and drought tolerant perennial is a favorite with hummingbirds.  The word Pink in Silene virginica's common name is in reference to the Pink family of plants.
